The split is equal and does not account for unequal contributions. Rounded shares may leave a cent to allocate when settling the real bill.
The formula
Total = distance × consumption ÷ 100 × fuel price + tolls + parking + other costs. Each share = total ÷ people.
A worked example
Fuel costing 33.15 plus 10 for tolls and 5 for parking totals 48.15, or 16.05 each for three people.
