Privacy Policy

Effective 16 September 2026

This policy describes SmartSolver at smartsolver.online. For privacy questions, email hello@smartsolver.online.

Calculator inputs

Calculator values are processed in your browser. The site does not submit them to a SmartSolver server or store them in cookies or local storage. Values remain in the current page while it is open; your browser may independently preserve form state or browsing history.

Hosting and technical records

Requests to load the site pass through the hosting provider. Server and security logs may include an IP address, requested page, timestamp, browser information and referring page. These records support delivery, security and troubleshooting, and are subject to the provider’s settings and retention practices.

Email contact

The contact form prepares a draft in your email app; it does not send a message itself. If you send an email, its contents and your email address are handled by the relevant email providers and used to respond to your request. Avoid sending confidential documents, payment details or health records. Contact us if you want a message deleted; legal or security obligations may limit deletion.

Appearance preferences

When you choose a color theme, we save only that theme name in your browser’s local storage under smartsolver-theme. It stays on your device until you change it or clear site data. It does not contain calculator inputs.

Saved and recently used tools

Saved calculator names and up to six recently opened tool names are stored only in this browser, under smartsolver-saved and smartsolver-recent. Calculator inputs and results are not saved. Remove a saved tool with its Save tool button, clear recent tools on the homepage, or clear browser site data.

Anonymous usage and feedback

We assign a random browser identifier and store it on your device under smartsolver-visitor-id. It is not based on your name, email address, IP address or a device fingerprint. This identifier represents a browser, not a unique person; clearing browser data or using another browser creates a different identifier.

Our first-party service records visit times, approximate visit counts, a broad device category and the hostname of an external referring site. It does not receive the full referring address or query string. After a successful calculation that you submit, we record the browser identifier, calculator name and time. We never send calculator inputs or result values to this service. Opening a calculator, showing a default example, resetting it or submitting invalid values does not count as a calculation.

A visible page can send a lightweight activity signal about every 75 seconds. Online Now counts browser identifiers seen in roughly the last two minutes; it is approximate. Inactive entries are excluded from public counts. Saved and recent tool lists remain local to your browser.

Helpful or Not Helpful feedback is associated with your browser identifier and calculator. You can change your vote, and only one current vote is kept for each browser and calculator. Public statistics show aggregate counts, never individual identifiers or detailed activity. Daily summaries support historical reporting.

This first-party usage and feedback system is separate from optional Google Analytics. The Google Analytics choice below controls the Google tag. First-party records remain until removed by the site operator; there is currently no automatic retention deletion. Clearing browser storage removes the local identifier but does not delete prior server records. Email us with privacy questions or deletion requests.

The API does not store raw IP addresses in its analytics tables. Temporary abuse protection uses a keyed digest of the connecting IP, with short-lived rate-limit files. A secure, HTTP-only session cookie protects API requests. Hosting providers may independently keep technical logs as described above.

Google Analytics and your choice

We use Google Analytics (measurement ID G-WLQKVL86E6) when you choose Accept analytics. Until then, the Google Analytics script does not load. Choosing Decline leaves the calculators fully available. You can reopen Analytics preferences in the footer to change your choice.

With permission, Google receives usage information such as pages viewed and browser or device information and can set analytics cookies. These requests also involve network information. Our tag sends page addresses without search parameters and does not intentionally send calculator values. See Google’s privacy policy for its data practices.

Your analytics choice is stored on your device under smartsolver-analytics-consent for up to 180 days before we ask again. If browser storage is unavailable, the choice applies to the current page. Declining after previously accepting disables our tag, removes accessible Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page. It does not delete data previously received by Google.

Advertising

Our ads.txt file lists the authorized Google publisher account. This release does not load advertising scripts or display ad units. If advertising is enabled later, this policy and the consent controls will be updated for those services.

External links and your choices

Linked websites and your email provider have their own privacy practices. Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction or deletion of personal information and to contact a relevant privacy authority. Send questions or requests to the email address above.

Changes

We may revise this policy as the site changes. The effective date identifies the current version.
